I haven't watched this in years but a recent rewatch of New Girl. I really wish they would've done the version with Summer's point of view too like they were planning to.
I've been meaning to rewatch this for a while and since I heard some positive things about the RoboDoc documentary, this seemed like the perfect time. I know this movie is huge and considered a classic but I am surprised that it's not even bigger than that.
I remember watching this when it came out having no context for the series other than Alien. After watching it as part of a rewatch of the series in preparation for Alien: Romulus, this one might be close to my favorite. I didn't get why it was divisive at the time and I still don't quite understand.
I shouldnt rate movies as soon as I leave the theater so maybe I'll feel different on a rewatch but I really enjoyed this. More jokes and blood than the previous ones. Montage during the credits was great and there is an end credit scene in case you werent sure.
Just finished rewatching the series in preparation for Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. No matter how many times I rewatch them, it's always fun. While the first half of the series holds a special place in my heart, the second half really figured out how to build this universe and make it different than other action/spy movies.
Spoiler warning: I wish I would've known this was "part 1" and there would be no resolution. Thats what I get for not watching trailers or reading movie news
I'm breaking my rule about how I rate movies. I don't think I'll rewatch this unless for very specific situations but I know I'll remember it for a long time.
There's something about playing a movie you like for other people that makes you see things for the first time again. I loved this movie. I checked my history on letterboxd and I'm surprised that its been this long from my last rewatch to now. I put this movie on for friends because they had never seen it before and I have such good memories of this movie. This rewatch made me see more flaws and had me thinking the movie is maybe not as good as I rated it. But then any scene with the supporting cast is fun and there's a Dracula musical with puppets. There's some very real moments of a break up that are interesting in a movie like this until they are undone 10 minutes later. It's flawed but I love the memories watching this movie brings back.
I think this is the shortest amount of time between watching and rewatching a movie in years. I haven't stopped thinking about it and I already want to watch it again.
